TUNEART

Soundwave Art Generator

A recording, drawn as its own shape. Song, vow, voice note or heartbeat — it is decoded in your browser and comes back print sized, without a watermark or a checkout. If you want the tempo and key of the same file, that reads locally too.

Free, and print sized, on purpose

Most soundwave generators give you a preview and charge for the file, or sell you the canvas it goes on. Neither is unreasonable — printing and shipping cost money — but the picture itself does not. Drawing it takes no server, so there is nothing here to recoup: the full-resolution PNG is the output, not the sample of it. Take it to whichever printer you like.

What makes a good one

Contrast. A recording that goes somewhere — a quiet opening into a chorus, a laugh in the middle of a sentence — makes a shape you can recognise across a room. A mastered single, squeezed flat so it is loud everywhere, makes a rectangle. If the wave reads as a block, fewer bars will bring the shape back, and a live take or a phone recording will nearly always beat the streaming master.

Frequently asked questions

Is my recording uploaded?
No. The browser decodes the audio and draws the picture locally. Nothing is sent anywhere, which matters more here than on most tools — a voice note or a heartbeat recording is not a file anyone should have to hand over to get a poster.
Is it big enough to print?
The square export is 2400×2400, which is 8″ at 300dpi — large enough for a framed print. There is no watermark and nothing to buy.
Why does my wave look like a solid block?
Modern masters are heavily compressed, so the loud and quiet parts are closer together than they look on a DAW. Lowering the bar count makes the shape read more clearly, and a live or acoustic recording will always have more relief than a mastered single.
What do the bars actually show?
Each bar is the loudness of one slice of the recording — mostly its average energy, with a quarter weight on its loudest instant so that drums still show. Tall bars are loud passages and short bars are quiet ones.
Can I use a voice note or a heartbeat recording?
Yes. Anything the browser can decode works, and the shorter and more dynamic the recording, the more distinct the picture.
